Coinciding with the theatrical release of the big screen remake, Network DVD will release The Sweeney - The Complete First Series on UK Blu-ray for the first time. Arriving on 10 September 2012 in beautiful high definition, the 4-disc set allows you to relive this ground-breaking British police drama starring John Thaw as Detective Inspector Regan and Dennis Waterman as his loyal partner Detective Sergeant Carter. Part of New Scotland Yard’s infamous Flying Squad, they mix with London’s seedy underworld as they tackle the crimes too hard to handle for your everyday police officer.
